Context and 4 steps flow - Week 8

noamkimchi8

In this week's class we started to work on a few exercises.

The first exercise was finding our app's context of use. Due to the fact that our app's main users are educators and teenagers we have decided that it's context of use is an educational process (for the app download) and everyday for the teenage user which gets reflections about his chatting habits.

The second exercise was finding our main stakeholders which are - teenagers, educators, parents and formal\Informal educational frameworks.

The third exercise was possible value tensions for example - Teenagers privacy vs Raising awareness

The fourth exercise was to find three design guidelines based on the context of laboratory we were given. We found three interesting concepts that can be reflected to our app which are -

●Clean\Sterility - we want to create a discourse clean from negative words.

● Microscope - We want to reflect the teenagers' patterns of chatting.

● Process - We want to help the educator and teenagers to make a process in order to prevent cyberbullying and create positive discourse.

● Tubes- Sort by offensive words and positive words. The class will create vocabulary “tubes” with good words and bad words

The fifth exercise was to find a relevant metaphor for our project.

The one we found was a doorstop - Just like doorstop, our app goal is to prevent teenagers from “hitting” their friends on social networks. Moreover, teens will be able to observe within the inner world of their peers. The user is able to remove or ignore the notifications. He is not obliged to do what the app recommends him to. In the end, the user can do whatever he wants without anyone to judge but himself.

Last exercise was the 4 steps flow -

We also prepared for our first pitch(!) in front of some experts which will be conducted in the next class.
